This VG- quality book was published in 1914 by A.L.Burt Company; it is format #1 with a decorated front panel and spine. It is 7-1/2" tall and has 249 numbered pages followed by 6 unnumbered pages of ads. It has a slight lean, is very clean, free of corner bumps and edge dings; the head and heel of the spine are very lightly bumped, without fabric damage; bottom edges have very little wear. The front panel has no signs of wear but does have slight discoloration at the bottom and top 1/2"; the spine has similar discoloration. The interior is completely free of writing, stray marks and page damage of any type; pages 116-117 have a heavily toned area where a small piece of paper resided. Both hinges are strong but the paper covering the front hinge is torn for 1" at the bottom. The only illustration is the frontis. The paper has toned very slightly and the pages are very flexible and not brittle. The jacket is in G condition. It has a slight amount of soiling, with numerous chips--the biggest are at the head and heel of the spine, both of which take out lettering; but there are edge chips that also take out lettering (see photos).
