Caught Between Worlds
For eighteen years, Alexis Rain has lived with an eidetic memory and the nagging feeling that she doesn't quite fit in her small North Carolina town. She remembers every conversation, every detail, every moment since she was three—but she's never understood why shadows seem to welcome her or why her dreams are filled with obsidian doors and starlit chambers.
When her mother dies in what police call a tragic accident, Alexis's carefully constructed world begins to crumble. A stranger appears at the funeral, speaking in riddles about divine heritage and cosmic destinies. Her father, consumed by grief and guilt, finally reveals the truth he's kept buried for nearly two decades: Alexis isn't entirely human.
Her real mother is something ancient and powerful, and there are forces that view Alexis's very existence as an abomination that must be eliminated.
As supernatural predators emerge from hiding and the people she loves become pawns in a war between worlds, Alexis must embrace abilities she never knew she possessed. With her best friend Keats and a growing network of unlikely allies, she'll face gods, monsters, and the terrible price of power.
Some bloodlines are worth killing for. Others are worth dying to protect.
Her choices will reshape everything she thought she knew about family, love, and the thin line between salvation and destruction.
