xviii 224 pages, large folio, TEG, special edition LIMITED TO 100 NUMBEREDCOPIES , this being No 40 SIGNEND by John Guille Millais with 3 colour plates, only 1 appeared in the trade edition, the electro etchings are on India paper. 185 text and full page illus mostly by the author, 8 by Sidney Steel, 2 by E. Roe, 10 electro engraved and coloured frontis by the author and Sidney Steel, and a series of unpublished sketches by Sir Edwin Landseer, some foxing to the electro etchings mostly to the blank margin of some plates and tissue guards, also to the blank margin of the frontis. Armorial bookplate of Collingwood Lindsay Wood to front paste down and armorial plate Lunsden to front end paper. Publisher, ½ tan morroco over cloth with decorative deer head vignette in black to upper board, gilt title and deer head to spine, the cloth darkened as usual, Overall, a vg copy of the limited edition of a classic deer stalking title.
