The easiest road is not always the right one.
Atlas loves adventure, challenges, and finding the quickest way forward. But during a special Adventure Day in Brightwood, he discovers that some shortcuts come with consequences that are impossible to see at first.
When other kids begin bending the rules, following the crowd, and choosing quick rewards over honest effort, Atlas must decide what kind of person he wants to become.
With Lumi and his friends beside him, Atlas faces choices involving peer pressure, honesty, competition, friendship, responsibility, and the courage to stand alone. Along the way, he learns that making one wrong choice does not define him—but what he chooses to do next matters.
Atlas and the Two Roads is the second adventure in the Bright Paths series, created to help young readers explore meaningful real-life lessons through engaging, age-appropriate storytelling.
Inside this story, readers will explore:- Integrity and doing what is right when no one is watching
- Resisting peer pressure and thinking independently
- Understanding the hidden consequences of shortcuts
- Learning patience instead of chasing immediate rewards
- Taking responsibility for mistakes
- Apologizing and making things right
- Rebuilding trust through actions
- Standing up for what you believe is right
- Understanding that friendship should not require bad choices
- Thinking beyond the moment before making decisions
Written primarily for children ages 9–11, with meaningful themes and adventures that many 12-year-old readers will also enjoy.
Every choice creates a path.
Join Atlas, Lumi, and their friends as they discover that the best road is not always the fastest, easiest, or most popular—but every honest choice helps shape the person you are becoming.
Atlas faces a choice between popular shortcuts and the honest path his parents taught him to follow. Through Adventure Day challenges, friendship, mistakes, and second chances, he learns powerful lessons about integrity, peer pressure, patience, responsibility, and choosing what is right even when no one is watching.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
