Pages iii-v Preface give a brief outline of the work and life of the author. His first production. BL,C, & NLI only located in Copac & Worldcat. The first and principal piece is founded on a popular German legend. Includes a poem to Sir F. W. MacNaghten, Bart and On the death of Mr. William Booth (The Founder of Sunday School Education in Belfast). William John McMullan (variously spelt) also wrote 'The Heir of Avonmore' (relating to the Yelverton case). Dedicated to the benefactor of the poet. McMillan (sic) born Belfast 1813, educated as a free pupil at Brown St. School, an Academical Institution. Ran away to sea for 9 months before becoming a printer, composing his own verses in type without writing them. Wrote Street ballads & contributed to various journals.
