The Bridge of San Luis Rey was first published in 1927 in which Wilder had made some use of a short play by Prosper Merimee, Le Carrosse du Saint Sacrement. This edition is illustrated with 14 lithographs in colour by Jean Charlot xix, 137pp Book size 280x175mm.

The book shop was established in 2001 and is housed in a listed 17th century building. The village of Farningham has iron age origins, with much Roman settlement, and is today still predominantly 18th century in character. The shop is named after Wadard, one of Farningham's Domesday landlords, a henchman of Bishop Odo, William the Conquerers brother,and featured on the Bayeaux tapestry. …
