Item description from seller

1907. No Edition Stated. 423 pages. No dust jacket. In English. Dimensions: 22cm x 15cm x 3.5cm. Original red cloth with blocked titles in gilt. Card of A. H. R. Christian, Brewer at Archibald Arrol & Sons, glued to front endpaper. There are numerous black & white diagrams throughout, including 22 plates. Some pencil annotations to page 48, with only a few small pencil marks seen elsewhere. Minimal foxing and tanning to endpapers and page edges. Both hinges cracked thus the boards are a bit wobbly. Severe gutter crack at pages 320-321, but this does not affect binding firmness. Boards remain in good condition, with minor wear and small bumps around the edges, with crushing to spine ends. There are some small splits to the spine ends and along rear joint. Spine and some edges tanned slightly darker. Small marks, scuffs and soiling are visible across the boards.
