It was Friday, June 26, almost 5pm. Jan Conway was looking forward to the weekend. She had landed a Marketing job two months ago and had been working long hours. Jan had noticed that Connie was always dressed to the max.
"I'll check it out this evening on my way home."
"Great let me know what you think. Have a good time Saturday,"
"Thanks, see you Monday."
Why was Connie taking an interest in my private life Jan wondered? Maybe she likes me, or John and just wants us to have a good time. Or maybe she is just a busybody. Well anyway I do need some new outfits, why not give it a try.
Jan left and got a cab. She didn't have a car since the bus or cabs could take her most places.

"What year?"

"Ok, here it goes. I am a Doctor, OBGYN. I am also an engineer."
"Well good for you. Again what does that have to do with me?"
"I'm getting to that. Twenty-one years ago, a comet came close to the earth. It didn't come close enough to hit earth but the entire planet was engulfed in a haze for three to five days, depending on the location. Our environmental scientist tested the air and could not find anything that would cause any health problems so everyone was told not to worry. Over the next few months all of my patients stopped their menstrual cycle. All of the Doctors around the planet were seeing the same thing."
"What made their cycles stop?"
"We started doing all kinds of testing. What we found was shocking. The ovaries of the all of women and girls had been absorbed into their bodies. They were just gone. "What about the other animals?"
"It had the same effect on a few species, such as monkeys. But the great apes were OK. We still don't know why."
Phil continued, "We had to figure out something to do. Since I was an engineer and an OBGYN, I was involved in the process. One of our people, Bob Foster, had been working on time travel for the Air Force. His research took on a new since of urgency. After about twelve years he started to see some promising results. A few years later he sent a dog through. When it came back, it was dead. This happened several times. We were not sure if it happened going out or coming back. The only way to find out was to send a man. A volunteer was chosen. Only he would be able to activate the return. Less than two minutes after he left he came back, dead. He had written a note that the trip was great and he felt great."

"Going through once caused no harm. But for some reason, it seems to scramble the cells the second time. Anyway over the last couple of years, we have built 10 machines and placed them in cities across the country. Since you are here you must know Connie and Delta."

"When you walked into the store, do you remember feeling like there was static around?"
"Yes, when I went through the security."
Phil laughed and said, "That was not for security. It was a scan to make sure you were healthy and would be able to conceive easily."
"I take it I passed." Jan said sarcastically.
"You must have or you wouldn't be here. We have been doing this for about 6 months but you're the first breeder I've met. Each machine can only bring one girl a day. So we have several hundred but I have not seen any of them. If I don't turn you in and someone from the Directorate catches you with me, I will be in big trouble."
"If they catch me what will happen to me."
"You will be taken to the breeding farm. It is not too far from here. The first day you will be cleaned up and given a physical. After that you get up at 5am."
"I never get up that early."
"Well you will. You will be taken to breakfast at 6am. After breakfast you have until 8am to do what you want. At 8am you will be taken to the breeding room. From 8 to 8:45 the first man will have sex with you as many times as he can."
"The first man?" Jan gasped.
"Yes, you will then have fifteen minutes to yourself. At 9am the second man will come in and so on until 11:45. Each man will have forty-five minute to try to impregnate you. At 11:45 you will be given lunch and the whole thing starts again at 1pm. At 4:45pm you are finished for the day. This will go on until you are confirmed pregnant. During the whole time it is unlikely that you will have sex with the same man twice. Each man has his DNA tested so we will know who the father is. He and his wife must take care of the child. After a short recovery time, usually 2 months, you will be back to the breeding farm. Although we have just started this, the plan is that the breeders will continue to be bred until they unable have any more children. "And what if I escape or just refuse?"
