About the Author: David Falloure is also author of Sheer Will: The Story of the Port of Houston and the Houston Ship Channel, and featured in an award-winning documentary on the Houston Ship Channel centennial. His upcoming book is Deep Water: The story of Beaumont and its port. In addition to blogs and columns, he has contributed to several publications on history, including the Houston Chronicle, the Houston Heights Tribune, the Examiner News Group, Southwest/Village News, and the Buzz Magazines. Among the subjects covered are the experiences of Korean War veterans, the last gunfight at the Rice Hotel, the capture of Mexican couriers before San Jacinto, ghostly legends in Bellaire, Texas, the legacy of Henry Beachell, Galveston after the storm and more.
