About the Author
Helen is an aspiring creative whose passions include reaching others through the power of language, shared humanity, and the stories that connect us. Her professional journey has included administrative roles in the non-profit sector and juvenile drug court, and subsequent HR roles in mental health support services and fire & EMS. Faith is the solitary lens through which Helen views and interprets life. Her personal journey brought challenges that helped her acknowledge that wonder, grief, curiosity, and gratitude co-exist in holy tension intended to redefine our purpose. She believes that every life and every story matters. Co-laboring with Rick in this endeavor to share Shantay's story and his own, has been a tremendous honor. May every adult victim of child abuse and adult experiencing domestic violence seek help. May every first responder struggling from exposure to violence, trauma and compassion fatigue find the support they need.
