Story of the famous old manor house of Greenway Court, the home of Lord Fairfax, Washington's early patron, written for young people by the author of "the Log School-House on the Columbia," "In the bouyhood of Lincoln" etc. Brown cloth with gilt titling on spine, black titling on front, black decorative panel on spine, black and white illustration with decorative gilt borders on front, brown end papers, black and white frontispiece and illustrated with ten black and white plates, publisher's advertising on last four pages. Some wear to corners and spine ends, a one-inch rubbed area on leading edge of front cover, page edges darkened, a pale damp stain on top right text block corner, a few tiny spots on front end papers, owner's ink inscription on end paper (dated 1893).
