About this Item
Oversized Blue cloth with dull gilt lettering and full-color pasted paper cover illustration. Light rub to all edges, some foxing to closed outside edges. Previous owner signature to front endpaper, small vintage bookstore label. Text is overall clean and bright, the occasional thumb smudge. Beautiful full-color frontis illustration and 93 other drawings by Wallis Sturtevant. "In this volume an attempt has been made to give a concise, plain, and authentic narrative of the principal battles of the Revolution as witnessed by those who took part in them. Although the name of Elijah Favor may not be found on the Ryefield muster-roll, yet we have more than his counterpart in the person of Alexander Scammell, who fought at Bunker Hill, became Washington's trusted adjutant-general, and who gave his life to his country at Yorktown; while Dodifer Hanscom, Esek Earl, and Nicholas Dolof are representative boys of the time." (from the Preface). Seller Inventory # I41213
