Peter Hedges adapted his first novel, What'sEating Gilbert Grape, for director Lasse Hallström.His second novel was An Ocean in Iowa. His otherscreenplay adaptations include A Map of the Worldand About a Boy, which was nominated for anAcademy Award^(R) for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Paul Weitz co-wrote and co-directed blockbuster hits About a Boy (nominated for an Oscar(R) for Best Adapted Screenplay) and American Pie. Previously, with his brother Chris, he collaborated on several screenplays, including Antz.
