A very good copy, for its age, in a similar dust jacket of the first hardback edition of Christopher Fry's translation of Colette's 'L'Enfant et les Sortileges', beautifully illustrated in colour by Gerard Hoffnung. Colette's story was originally published in 1925 and was based on her libretto for Ravel's opera of the same name. Dust Jacket: cream coloured paper with colour illustration to front and rear, and black lettering to front and spine; very bright and clean, for its age, slight rubbing to edges, commensurate with age and use, but really in very good condition; price clipped (protected probably from fairly new). Cover: pink ( red & white mix) cloth covered boards with green metallic lettering to spine; very bright and clean; few visible signs of shelf wear, a little faded. Internally: very clean and tightly bound; no markings, inscriptions or book plates; some darkening/ foxing to page edges and end papers; otherwise in very good condition. Illustrated throughout in colour. Unpaginated. Landscape format. …
