Synopsis:
Unique among D. H. Lawrence’s writings, The Boy in the Bush, published in 1924, is the novel he wrote in collaboration with Mollie Skinner, a native of Western Australia, who provided the background that Lawrence’s vivid and matchless prose transformed into an exciting story of adventure and romance on the Australian frontier of the 1880s. The present edition is a reprint of the Secker 1924 London edition. In his Note on the Text Matthew J. Bruccoli discusses and gives the reasons for the selection of this text, and in his Preface Harry T. Moore places the novel in perspective in the Lawrence canon.

As for the book itself, find light streaky foxing to top edge and one or two flecks to fore-edge, else perfectly sound, clean and unmarked; and as for the dust jacket, expect mild edgewear, faintly sunned spine panel, and an irritating little sticker at the tail. Bruccoli : "The present text is an offset facsimile of the first printing .(London, Martin Secker, 1924). No editorial alterations of any kind have been made." Board edges are thumbed, therefore bearing discolouration. Boards are rubbed. Page edges are moderately discoloured and well foxed, more so at the head edge. Binding is neat and tidy. Head and tail of spine lightly bumped. Free endpapers and pastedowns bear some signs of use, so too the odd page throughout. Pages throughout are lightly discoloured with age. Else book is in good condition. Dustwrapper bears some small creases, rubbing and scuff marks. Covers are well rubbed. Spine lightly sunned. Front cover bears some areas of white specks.
