Some authors die for their art. Others just die.
The Tidehaven Cove Literary Fair was supposed to celebrate books and authors, but when aspiring writer Gary Stephens is found dead with a letter opener, the only mystery anyone wants to solve is who finally silenced the most obnoxious author in Devon.
Bookshop owner Ginny Hampton finds herself investigating her second murder in less than a year. Gary had spent the day antagonizing everyone from literary agents to bestselling novelists, leaving Ginny with a festival full of suspects.
When her old friend Beauregard Morrison arrives from Charleston to help with the investigation, veterinarian Elliot Harrington isn't thrilled about the charming newcomer—especially when Beau seems to understand both Ginny and the publishing world better than he does.
As bitter rivalries and literary ambitions surface, Ginny discovers that in the book business, some people will kill for a bestseller.
This cozy bookstore mystery proves that truth is stranger than fiction—and considerably more dangerous.
