Item description from seller

Albumen photograph laid down to card measuring 8 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches. There is not Curtis stamp ut this piece is from the collection of Christopher Cardozo, the foremost Curtis scholar in the world and it is still in his original mylar. Certainly the image shows men (25 to be specific) working on a project but what the project is isn't immediately apparent. There appears to be a wide irrigation ditch right next to the construction area and they are laying crossbars to two long straight lines. But they appear to far apart to be railroad ties and the project ends at one side. In any case, a very early photograph but Curtis who mainly worked in silver gelatin.
