From aspiring writer and director Levern E. Fitzpatrick Sr. comes Born With It, an intensely emotional, realistic drama set in the pressure-cooker environment of high school, where small choices snowball into life-altering tragedy. Written originally from behind prison walls as a way to find mental freedom and spark meaningful conversation in underrepresented communities, Fitzpatrick delivers an authentic, gripping tale showing that circumstances don’t make a person—they simply reveal what was always inside.
About the Story
When Ashley Walker returns to her old hometown as a high school sophomore, her stunning appearance immediately turns heads. Reuniting with her childhood best friend, Janea, Ashley seems ready for a fresh start. But behind her bright smile lies a heavy secret—a serious, pre-existing health condition and a lifetime of unaddressed emotional pain.
As teen romance, jealousy, and miscommunications simmer across high school hallways, football games, and weekend parties, a sudden web of betrayal and rumors unravels. When tragedy strikes, Ashley's hidden reality comes crashing down on everyone around her, forcing friends, family, and peers to confront the devastating weight of secret choices, reckless desires, and accountability.
