Print on Demand. This book takes the reader on a journey into an underbelly of London, introducing them to John Laverock, a man of faith tasked with proving himself within an ambitious religious outreach program. Exploring a hidden world of squalor and abandoned humanity, Laverock grapples with the harsh realities of life for London's most vulnerable. He contends with his own awakening to the complexities of right and wrong, and the hypocrisies that exist within his own sphere of privilege. As his path crosses with an enigmatic and captivating woman named Donna Bohannan, she challenges his perceptions and forces him to question his own moral compass. Within the broader context of Christian doctrine and the social issues of the early 20th century, this book explores the potential for redemption within the darkest corners of society. The author delves into the complexities of faith, charity, and the search for truth in an unjust world. Through Laverock's journey, the reader is invited to reflect on their own moral values, the boundaries of their empathy, and the power of a single individual to effect change. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

She moved, and he followed - not too grace fully, because the children were revolving in a circle about them. Some of the expressions of regret sent after them were of a nature that apparently contained as much condensed local humour as those chalked at intervals upon the pavement. And John Laverock seemed to expect the woman at his side to bear that as easily as himself.
