Full colour facsimile reprint of the original First World War, War Office war diary of the Cambridgeshire Regiment 1/1 Battalion Cambridgeshire Regiment, Hertfordshire Regiment 1 Battalion, Cheshire Regiment 6 Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment 4th Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers 1/4th, 1/5th and 1/6th Battalion (Territorials), 118 Infantry Brigade, 39th Division, covering December 1915 to November 1918 across 680 pages. It names 254 places across 377 dated entries. Alongside the daily entries the volume carries two lists of honours and awards, six casualty and personnel returns, seventeen reports, narratives and plans, 52 Operation Orders, one appendix, four maps and one diagram. Among the papers are: 1/1st Cambridgeshire Regiment. honours and Awards. during the month of Sept 1917; 1/st Cambridgeshire Regiment. honours and awards; Report on raid Executed by 1/1st Cambridgeshire Regt. on Canadian Trench. (C.22.a.05.92; Report on raid by 1/1st Cambridgeshire Regt. on night of 14/15th May. A; Scheme for raid by 1/1st Cambridgeshire Regiment; Appendix 4. report on operations 21st/30th March 1918. Appendix 5. Criticism on operation; Preliminary report on the raid carried out by 1/1st Cambs. Regt., (118th Infantry Brigade; Artillery Barrage; Machine Gun Barrage; Stokes Mortar Barrage; Report of raid carried out by the 1/1st Hertfordshire Regt. on the night of February; 4th Battalion the Lincolnshire Regiment order No. 3. The diary opens at Flixecourt on 1 December 1915. 1915 is spent at Flixecourt. 1916 at Givenchy, Essars, Festubert, Elverdinghe and Hamel. 1917 at Hilltop Sector Ypres, Peselhoek, Ypres, Wieltje and Ridge Wood. 1918 at Fecamp, Sous Le Bois Camp Fecamp, Estmont and Gouzeaucourt. It closes at Fecamp on 9 November 1918. Fecamp is where it spent longest, 184 days across ten separate stays and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 87 days at Flixecourt. Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Ridge Wood, Beaumont Hamel Trenches, Trenches Boesinghe, Schwaben Redoubt, Martinsart Wood, Canal Bank East & West, Canal Bank Ypres and Mailly Wood. In 1916 it is also recorded at Wallon Cappel, Sercus, Les Ciseaux, Les Lauries, Caudescure, Les Lauriers-Pont Du Hem, Riez Bailleul, La Gorgue, Maated Grange and Merville. In 1917 it is also recorded at Ypres Canal Bank, Canal Bank East & West, Left Sub-Section Front Line, Left Support Right Bde on Canal Bank, Brandhoek 'B' Camp, Vlamertinge, B Camp Branhoch, A Camp Vlamintinghe, Canal Bank Ypres and Ypres Prison. In 1918 it is also recorded at Bayenghem Les Semnghem, Fush Farm, Poel Cappelle, Hill Top, Poleapslle, Siege Camp, Dambre Camp, Houtkerque, Hengrele and Chipilly.…
