This set of books are in rough shape; Vol. I, published by Tallis & Co., has the spine split off from binding, some leather rot around the edges, and in general stains and foxing to covers, which are 1/4 calf. Vol II, published by Henry Lea, also has some leather rot and a small gash out of the front cover; both volumes have marbled edges, foxing and stains to pages; in both volumes the binding remains fairly good.Name of previous owner in blue ink to first free end paper of both volumes. Proceeds from this sale benefit the Multnomah County Library in Portland, Oregon. Due to weight of books extra shipping charges will be requested. Seller Inventory # 7.1.23.1

We provide supplemental funding for library programs and services, and sponsor activities which engage people who value our library. One of the main fundraising activities of our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization is the sale of donated books, and since our founding in 1972, Friends of the Library has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to support our libraries via such sales.

For orders from the UK we charge $25 for the first book, $5.00 for each additional book, for books not more than 4 pounds; books are sent via USPS First Class International. Priority mail orders start at $65 for the first book, $10.00 for each additional book. Larger and heavier books or sets, especially those being sent outside the USA, may require an extra shipping charge.
