Item description from seller

A scarce edition of the Book of Common Prayer, together with Tate and Brady's popular Psalms of David. A popular pocket-sized edition that allowed Anglicans to pray wherever they were. A scarce edition of pocket-sized The Book of Common Prayer, and the Administration of the Sacraments, and other Rites and Ceremonies of the Church, together with Nicholas Brady and Nahum Tate's new version of the Psalms of David. Published by G. E. Eyre and W. Spottiswoode in 1851.In decorative full calf boards, with a presentation inscription dated to 1860 to the front paste down.Very popular in both the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, this curious little book allowed members of Anglican community to pray wherever they were, including both popular readings and gospels, as well as those dedicated to certain dates of the year, such as St. Stephen's Day and Easter Sunday. In full calf. Externally, smart, with the odd small mark to boards. Signs of rubbing to edges, joints, and to the extremities. Slight fading to glit decoration to front board. End papers are generally bright and clean, with slight browning and smudging. Ink inscription to front paste down, with who presented the book grazed off, and a couple of stamped names to rear end papers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with slight age toning, and browning to 'Evening Prayer' section near to beginning of the book. Very Good.
