A mid 18th century trio of works, beginning with an undated copy of The Book of Common Prayer, followed by The Holy Bible containing the Old Testament and the New, Newly Translated Out of the Original Tongues, and with the Former Translations Diligently Compared and Revised. Lastly, at the end is The Whole Book of Psalms, Collected into English Metre. This volume contains what looks to be a contemporary and rather substantial family register, beginning with the birth of one Sarah Barnett in 1775, and ending with the birth of Benjamin Barnett in 1793. There are about three pages of birth records noted for the family. This volume most recently belonged to the library collection of Mulberry House, a former rectory of High Ongar church. The title page to the Book of Common Prayer is lacking. This volume has been bound in contemporary full leather, with Cambridge panel gilt tooling, and with the monogram for one SE at the center. Three works finely bound into one volume in octavo (17 x 10 cm), A11 of A12-E2, A12-Mm12, A12-D12 This volume is in good shape, with some rubbing and wear to the binding, and the front hinge cracked at the bottom. There is some leather loss to the head and foot of spine. There is very light, scattered soiling and staining throughout.…
