Paperback. Here, legendary Pagan author Isaac Bonewits reveals the real story of Wicca. This book presents a clear, honest, and succinct history of the different ideas and behaviours included in the Pagan panoply. For over 30 years - and redressing the damage of centuries of oppression - Witches have striven to have Wicca taken seriously as a "real" religion. Thanks to this effort, Wicca is now recognised and becoming better understood and accepted every day. But each time a person speaks from ignorance, or speaks imprecisely about Wicca, it sets that work back and disrespects the achievements of thousands of misunderstood forebears. Bonewits' "Essential Guide To Witchcraft and Wicca" is more than just a history of the Pagan religions. It is a historical document - a timely and extraordinarily important clarification of the true facts and language of Wicca. It's a dictionary; a glossary; an approved and official history of a misunderstood craft. It is a handbook, a reader, and a devotional. With a detailed history of belief and ritual practices of Neopagan Witches, a clear and concise overview of the evolution and central tenets of modern Paganism, and extensive advice on rituals, poetry, and magickal ethics, Bonewits' "Essential Guide To Witchcraft and Wicca" is the ultimate encyclopaedia for practitioners and neophytes of, and those interested in, the modern earth religions. With a detailed history of belief and ritual practices of Neopagan Witches, this book offers an overview of the evolution and central tenets of modern Paganism, and also advice on rituals, poetry, and magickal ethics. It is useful for practitioners and neophytes of, and those interested in, the modern earth religions.
