Item description from seller

12.5" x 16.5". 1931 reprint of 1827 collection including the "Observations ." and 95 of 115 hand-colored engravings. Preface by Là on Moussinac. The plates have been engraved by E. Doistau, printed by R. Tanburro, and colored by J. Saude. 750 copies numbered from 1 to 750 and 10 non-commercial copies numbered from I to X were printed. Copy 140 of 760. Translated excerpt by Moussinac: "The qualities of Dutailly are more personal. A watercolor, like that of La Poule (pl. 43) or that of the Baiser divinà (pl. 45), reveals a sense of composition, of elegance, a quest for expression worthy of note.".
