Founded in 2006, Bolivar Old Prints Anticuario specializes in original engravings and maps, both ancient and modern. It is a proud member of Ilab (International League of Antiquarian Booksellers), and Aila (Asociación Ibérica de Librerías Anticuarias). The gallery is now situated in Barcelona, in the central neighborhood of Eixample, just 400 m (1,500 ft) away from Gaudi's Casa Batlló. It is named after Simón Bolívar, the father of the Republic of Colombia, as the owner - a Frenchman named Timothée de Saint Albin - originally opened his gallery in Bogota. Timothée still travels frequently to Colombia, where he oversees the Books and Documents Department of Bogota Auctions, Colombia's primary auction house that he initiated and co-founded in 2014. Bolivar Old Prints has participated in various specialized fairs, including the Miami Map Fair, the Paris Map Fair, and Zona Maco in Mexico City. The gallery is currently emphasizing its presence at European fairs. Offering a diverse selection of antique maps and prints from around the world, especially the Ibero-American region, Bolivar Old Prints typically usually does not list its maps and plans of Barcelona online due to their rapid turnover. However, if you are interested in such items, you are welcome to contact the gallery directly.
Please note that we typically charge just an additional one euro for shipping each extra item.
