Created by a certified Speech-Language Pathologist, Bo the Boat is an interactive lift-the-flap board book designed to support early speech and language development through playful repetition, rhythmic language, simple vocabulary, and opportunities for children to participate.
Join Bo and Captain Mo on a gentle adventure at sea as toddlers discover friendly characters, familiar objects, playful surprises, and simple words and phrases. With sturdy lift-the-flaps, engaging illustrations, and predictable language, Bo the Boat encourages little ones to look, listen, point, imitate, name, and communicate while enjoying storytime with a grown-up.
This book is for you if your child enjoys:
- Interactive lift-the-flap books with a surprise on every page
- Rhythmic and repetitive stories that invite children to join in
- Books with animal sounds, vehicle sounds, and fun words to imitate
- Stories that encourage pointing, naming, repetition, and participation
- Books that help build first words and early vocabulary
- Simple stories that can be read again and again
Why families and speech therapists love Bo the Boat:
- Supports early speech and language development – Written by a Speech-Language Pathologist to encourage first words, early vocabulary, sound imitation, and simple 2–3 word phrases.
- Encourages imitation and participation – Repetitive language and playful opportunities invite toddlers to imitate sounds, words, actions, and gestures.
- Interactive lift-the-flap design – Sturdy flaps encourage little hands to explore while supporting joint attention, turn-taking, and engagement.
- Builds vocabulary through repetition – Simple, meaningful words and predictable language give young children repeated opportunities to hear and practice new vocabulary.
- Promotes connection through shared reading – Gives parents, caregivers, and therapists easy opportunities to talk, point, pause, model, and interact with their child.
- Supports social-emotional learning – Friendly characters and expressive illustrations encourage children to notice faces, emotions, and social interactions.
Perfect for babies and toddlers ages 0–3
Whether you're a parent, grandparent, caregiver, teacher, or speech-language therapist, Bo the Boat makes it easy to turn everyday storytime into an opportunity for early communication and connection.
Read it at bedtime, during speech therapy, in early intervention, at preschool, or anytime your little one wants to climb aboard for another adventure.
A meaningful first book for little learners—and a story families will want to read again and again.
