About this Item
This 5 x 7.75, x, 299 page book is in very good condition with no dust jacket issued. The front gilt design on deep blue boards has often been considered as a superb example of cover design work by Margaret Armstrong. The color on both the cover art and spine are still brilliant and beautiful. All four corners of the book show a slight whitening but none have worn through. The spine crown and foot shows similar whitening and some minor wrinkling but are sound and undamaged. The deckled-page interior is in quite sound condition with a previous owner's inscription on the ffep dated 1902. The date of 1902 is on both the title page in roman numerals and on the copyright page. The table of contents and the following page have some very slight chewing to the edges that is difficult to tell if it is remnants of the paper-making process or from insect damage. The gouges are smooth-edged and not rough like a rip or tear. Although the condition and desire for this book suggests a higher price, we wish to offer it at a lower cost as an honest bargain to today's collector. 299 pages. Seller Inventory # 1505-380
