Alrou-Mendera reels, thrust into war as their queen is deposed by an ancient cabal, the Khehemni.
But Elohl den'Alrahel and his twin sister Olea have done their duty as Kingsmen and kept their queen alive, in exile.
Queen Elyasin is safe in the wild northlands, with her new highlander husband, King Therel.
But visions of endless war plague the young queen; as Olea is spirited away by an ancient magic, unable to help, Elohl must cross the treacherous Highmountains to find aid for their war-torn nation.
In a desert oasis far to the southeast, Olea learns of Khehem, birthplace of the sinister Khehemni, discovering the origin of their ancient war against the Kingsmen.
As Elohl battles the glacial highpasses and near-assassination, Olea races through a dead city of catastrophic magic, to discover the Khehemni's secrets and how they might be stopped.
But as the last remaining Kingsmen rally to support their queen, war spreads across the nation.
As a darker power rises to the throne of Alrou-Mendera, intent upon ruthless slaughter, can the Kingsmen bring it down?
Or will they fall, as they face an ancient magic even the Khehemni fear—and are powerless to stop?
An Amazon bestselling series in Epic Fantasy and Sword & Sorcery from an award-winning author, the Kingsmen Chronicles is a gritty and heroic saga of treachery, war, and magic.
Featuring outcasts battling against all odds, a multi-POV cast, and spectacular world-building, this unique, human-written story (no AI) has complex, realistic characters and situations intended for adults.
Epic and gripping, this series champions hope against darkness and love despite loss, exploring ancient civilizations, plus low magic with a high magic past.
These deeply layered novels have been compared to Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time, Patrick Rothfuss’ Kingkiller Chronicles, George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher, and Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive.
A complete series with three books, the Kingsmen Chronicles is the first part of a three-series fantasy epic, the Key of Fire Saga.
