Guttersea don't sleep. It just closes one eye and watches you with the other.
In the gutter temples of Ashvein, magic is just another hustle. Ether—refined divine essence—flows through the streets like poison and prayer combined. The rich use it to party. The poor use it to survive. And everyone pays the price.
Ash is a street prophet running out of time.
Every miracle he speaks in the Relic Tongue costs years off his life. Every prayer he answers brings him closer to a grave he's been digging since his brother died in his arms. At twenty-three, he looks thirty-five. By thirty, he'll be dust.
He should walk away. He can't.
When a simple heist goes sideways, Ash finds himself holding a shard of the Crown—a shattered divine relic that hasn't been whole in a thousand years. Now Parliament wants it. The crime lords want it. The Velvet Order wants it.
And the Crown itself? It wants him.
Hunted by holy assassins, betrayed by allies, and bound to a power that's consuming him from the inside out, Ash must navigate a war between a crime queen who built her empire on addiction, a spy whose magical bindings hide dangerous secrets, and a corrupt church that will burn the city to control the Crown.
As the shards awaken, Ash faces an impossible choice: let the power consume him, or become something the streets have never seen—a prophet who doesn't just pray for miracles.
He becomes one.
BLOOD & SCRIPTURE is the explosive first novel in The Hood & The Halo Trilogy—a genre-defying blend of urban fantasy and street lit for readers who love The Rage of Dragons, The City We Became, and Jade City.
Magic in the streets. Scripture in the shadows. Blood on the crown.
