In an era defined by climate uncertainty, resource scarcity, and the urgent need for sustainable innovation, blockchain technology emerges as a transformative force across water and environmental systems. This groundbreaking volume brings together global experts to explore how decentralized technologies are reshaping the way we manage water, protect ecosystems, and build climate-resilient infrastructure.
Spanning foundational concepts to cutting-edge applications, the book offers a comprehensive journey through blockchain’s evolution―from its cryptographic roots to its integration with smart cities, IoT, and ecological governance. Readers will discover how blockchain enhances transparency in water trading, revolutionizes flood risk management, supports sustainable agriculture, and drives innovation in environmental monitoring and policy.
Structured across eight thematic parts, the chapters delve into intelligent water systems, consensus mechanisms, disaster resilience, and industrial transformation―offering both theoretical insights and practical case studies. Whether you're a researcher, policymaker, technologist, or sustainability advocate, this volume provides the tools and vision to harness blockchain for a greener, smarter future.
Edited by leading scholars and practitioners, Blockchain Technology for Water and Environmental Systems is a timely and essential resource for anyone seeking to understand and apply blockchain in service of global sustainability.
With contributions from global thought leaders and case studies spanning continents, Blockchain Technology for Water and Environmental Systems is a vital resource for academics, practitioners, and innovators seeking to harness the power of decentralization for a more resilient and sustainable future.
