“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment…?”
Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind…And…Love your neighbor as yourself.”—Matthew 22:36-39 (NIV)
Much has changed since that conversation took place over two thousand years ago. But one thing has stood the test of time: the truth of Jesus’s words and the power found in acting on them.
In Bless: Inspiring Reasons and Practical Ways to Live Your Faith through Acts of Love, author Karen Panton WalkingEagle strips away preconceived notions about what it means for modern-day Christians to love God and love people by highlighting what God says it looks like when we do both.
Through stories, thought-provoking insights, and the well-considered use of scripture, WalkingEagle takes us back to the simple, unadulterated message that Jesus proclaimed so long ago: loving God and loving people are the two most important commandments.
In Bless she skillfully demonstrates why it’s impossible to obey the first without also obeying the second, and why neglecting to do the latter is contrary to our own self-interest.
Join WalkingEagle on this journey to rediscover what it really means to love God, to love others, and to be blessed beyond your imagination.

About the Author
Karen Panton WalkingEagle is dedicated to public service. After teaching history, geography, government, and economics for several years, she left the classroom to enter the field of education research and program evaluation, where she wrote extensively on the effects of various initiatives and policies on students, particularly those living in communities that are economically disadvantaged. As an attorney, she now works to protect the legal rights of students with disabilities in schools, colleges, and universities.
WalkingEagle has also engaged in diverse volunteer activities. She has shared her Christian faith and biblical knowledge and insights with female inmates in a local jail, teenagers at summer camp, and participants in various Bible study classes. More recently, she founded a nonprofit organization that promotes academic, professional, and personal success among Native American students from a rural community in Montana.
