A Grimdark Historical Fantasy Novel
In a brutal world of faith, power, and betrayal, mercy is a death sentence.
Elizabethan England is not an age of glory—it is an age of shadows. Spies move in silence. Torture is called justice. Religion is twisted into a weapon, and survival belongs to the ruthless. Yet beneath it all, unseen forces stir—demonic and angelic powers locked in a silent war, each seeking to shape the future of mankind.
At the centre of it stands Captain Lament Evyngar—a woman who believes she serves a higher cause.
She is wrong.
Drawn into a deadly web of political intrigue, religious conflict, and escalating violence, she must navigate a world where loyalty is fragile, and truth is a lie. All the while, unseen hands guide events from the shadows, bending fate toward their own ends. Every choice pulls her deeper into darkness—where conviction can damn a soul, and hesitation can cost a life.
This is not a story of heroes.
This is a dark fantasy of sword and sorcery, where battles are savage, morality is blurred, and the line between salvation and damnation no longer exists.
Because in this world, power decides the truth.
And the price of being wrong… is everything.
Perfect for fans of grimdark fantasy, historical fantasy fiction, and dark, violent stories filled with betrayal, war, and morally grey characters. If you love Joe Abercrombie, Mark Lawrence, and Glen Cook, then this could be for you.
