About the Author: Harold D. Weaver, Jr., is a Fellow at the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research at Harvard University; Paul Kriese is Professor of Political Science at Indiana University East, specializing in African and African American studies, gender studies, and multicultural politics; Stephen W. Angell is Leatherock Professor of Quaker Studies at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana.
