Paperback. Forty-seven dollars. One eviction notice. And a room for rent that's too good to be true.Isabela Torrez has three jobs, a half-finished folklore dissertation, and exactly nothing left in her bank account when she finds the listing: two hundred dollars a month for a room in a gothic townhouse most of the city seems to have quietly agreed not to look at directly. The catch is the landlord. Viktor Wright is six and a half feet of immaculate restraint, older than he has any right to be, and he has precisely one rule.No questions after midnight.Isabela has spent her whole life proving the old stories are real. She breaks the rule on the first night. What she finds is a centuries-old vampire holding a fragile peace together by force of will - and a bloodline that ties her to him in ways neither of them chose. As a rival faction moves against Viktor's throne and an old enemy circles, Isabela has to decide how much she's willing to risk for a man who has forgotten how to want anything at all. He's spent two hundred years keeping everyone at a careful distance. She's about to become the exception.A slow-burn paranormal romance about power, hunger, and the things we only say in the dark.
