Dark green half morocco hardback binding with gilt decorated spine. Firm and square, strong joints. Contents clean and tight. No pen-marks. Not from a library so no such stamps or labels. Just a small trace of a tiny former owner bookplate at the pastedown. Size: 35cm x 25cm x 7cm. Collation: pp. (2), xiii, 624; complete with 19 tipped-in fine colour plates by G. Lodge, R. Thorburn, and D. M. Reid-Henry, and 9 tipped-in black-and-white photographic plates, also 53 text-figures and 36 maps (1 of which is tinted and folding).
