Collection. Donated by Mr. Christian A. Zabriskie. New York City". There is a tiny 1 cm by 1cm reference label: "Z. 923.273. S216 1884". The Title Page gives no publishers name: Only: "Philadelphia 1884". Title page reads: "Illustrated with numerous Engravings of the Portraits and Residences of the Signers, etc., on India Paper Mounted". There are fifty-six B & W mounted illustrations laid on, in fact. A librarian or cataloger has written in pencil, title page verso: "Copy 1. B.C.". Title page has a three inch closed edge tear with no loss. We understand that the Book Plate "F.S.C." refers to: The Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, also known as the Christian Brothers, the Lasallian Brothers, the French Christian Brothers, or the De La Salle Brothers. The five pp Introduction is dated: "Philadelphia. 1846. R.T.C". Very heavy at 4 kg with packing. A lovely thing. More information on request.…
