Print on Demand. This book is a collection of humorous letters written in the early 1900s, offering a unique glimpse into the language, culture, and social norms of the time. The letters, written by a young man named Billy Baxter, are full of slang and colloquialisms that provide a fascinating insight into how people spoke and interacted during that era. The author's wit and sharp observations on subjects such as dating, drinking, and social climbing make this a highly entertaining read. Through Billy's misadventures and mishaps, the book also provides a commentary on the changing social landscape of the early 20th century, making it a valuable historical document as well as a source of amusement. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.

In presenting a new edition of Billy Baxter's Letters we need only refer the reader to the original preface, which sets forth the circumstances surrounding the initial publication.
Billy Baxter claimed, for his slang, that it was up to date, but time has proven that it was far in advance of date, only because many of the expressions used in Billy Baxter's Letters did not come into common use until upwards of ten years after the publication of the famous stories.
