About the Author:
Maki Becker came to The Buffalo News in 2005 after spending six years at the New York Daily News. Before that, she worked as a reporter at The Charlotte Observer and as a special correspondent for The Los Angeles Times.
 
Michael Beebe is a member of the investigative reporting team at The Buffalo News, has been a reporter and rewrite man for thirty years at the paper, and has won numerous writing awards. He previously worked as a reporter at The Ledger-Star in Norfolk, VA.
