First edition of commentary. [9], 9-72, [1] leaves. Kabbalistic commentary on the Haggadah. Very fragile. Damage to top right corner of title page without loss of text. Yellowed wood pulp paper. Rabbi Jacob ben Misod Avihazira (1808-1880) was born in Egypt to a family of kabbalistic scholars and holy men. He served as Judge in Tafilalet, Morocco. A prolific writer and scholar, 12 of his works have been published many more remain in manuscript or have been lost. Many wonderful stories are told of his efforts and achievements in helping Moroccan Jewry survive the hostility of the Arabs. R. Jacob was respected and revered by Jews and gentiles alike. His gravesite draws both for prayers and his intervention in the upper realms. He passed on on his way to Jerusalem. Seller Inventory # 007453
