Item description from seller

Crisp, clean pages; no owners' marks; quarter cloth hard cover shows light shelfwear along bottom edges of boards and a bit of softening at spine ends; unclipped dust jacket bears thin lines of surface wear along foreedges, some small edge tears and creases, and a short reddish mark at the middle front, but remains overall remarkably well preserved and is now protected in a clear sleeve. 111pp. A midcentury reappraisal of urban life, loosely following Henry Mayhew's "London Labour and the London Poor", but with the irrepressible Searle and sardonic Atkinson making room for humor. Portions of this book originally ran in Punch.; Drawings.
