Staten Island, New York: Maurizio Martino, 1997. Brand New HARDCOVER in perfect condition. Just removed from the publisher's clear plastic shrinkwrap so we could write this description. NO rubbing. NO fading. Bright, clean, square and tight. Sharp corners. NO owner's name or bookplate. NOT a remainder. Fresh and crisp -- obviously never read. n. d. (but 1997). Reprint of the 1896 edition. Limited to 100 copies. Contains 2,500 annotated entries. According to Jenkins BASIC TEXAS BOOKS B162: Raines is "the pioneer work of Texas bibliography, still useful for its perceptive annotations. Few annotated bibliographies have withstood the passing years so well." It is little known that Streeter's more famous BIBLIOGRAPHY OF TEXAS which covers the years 1795-1845, has fewer listings than Raines and covers a shorter span of time. Streeter has 1,804 entries, while Raines describes 2,500 items, beginning in 1536 and running into the 1890s. Because they complement one another, both works belong on a Texas collector's reference shelf. Besterman 6065. Bound in the original red cloth, stamped in shiny gold over a black panel on the spine. 1997 reprint of 1896 ed, Limited to 100. Hardcover. New/No dust jacket, as issued. 8vo. xvi, 268pp. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping.…

Store description
About Books [Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and out of print books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail order catalogue, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of more than 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialities listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you want to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please only between the hours of 8am and 10pm, west coast time. Our phone is a landline that cannot receive texts.…
