Hardcover. What drives someone to spend a decade hunting for hidden treasure? For Justin Posey, featured in Netflix's Gold & Greed: The Hunt for Fenn's Treasure, it began with bedtime stories about lost Spanish gold and secret tunnels, and evolved into an obsession that merged old-world adventure with modern technology. While other treasure hunters stuck to sensible tools like maps and metal detectors, Posey merged his tech expertise with his outdoor skills, writing algorithms to analyze facial micro-expressions and training a bronze-sniffing dog-and he had to outrun a grizzly or two.Beneath this wild story of adventure lies a deeper journey of self-discovery. This heartfelt memoir is about growing up in a loving, raucous family where treasure hunting was normal dinner conversation, about pushing obsession to its limits, and about discovering that understanding the person behind the hunt is often the clearest map to the gold. Having acquired the very treasure he spent 780 days failing to find, Posey has hidden his own sixty-pound collection of historical artifacts, spanning from gold bars and precious gems to cryptocurrency and a rock from outer space, with hints scattered throughout these pages. Featured in Netflix's Gold & Greed, Justin Posey combines tech and treasure hunting in this memoir of adventure. With his own treasure hidden away, the hunt begins in these pages. About the Author
Matthew DeMoss is an author and editor who has worked in academic publishing for twenty-five years. He has a wife and four grown children. When he's not advocating for the serial comma, you'll find him planning his next international adventure.
Rachelle is an American illustrator, artist, and writer living in the Netherlands. Her cartoons and comics have appeared in "The New Yorker", "The New York Times," and "The Austin Chronicle." Her artwork is distinctive in its expressive line, harmonious color palettes, sensitivity, and humor. Her multimedia art project, "Faces on the Ferry," marked her return to the world of fine arts and captured the attention of media outlets such as "Het Parool," "Flow Magazine," and "The Guardian." She can usually be found either at her home in Amsterdam Noord, at her studio on the outskirts of Zaandam, or riding her bike between these two places. She loves to travel, read books, and draw people when they're not looking. She's currently developing a graphic novel called "Wolf House Fables." Rachelle lives with one husband, one son, one oversized tomcat, and one wild rabbit.rachellemeyer.com
