Himanshu Arora is the Founder and CEO of NestedLoop, where he is building HELIX―an AI-native operating layer for Medicare Advantage health plans. He founded NestedLoop after serving as Chief Data & Analytics Officer at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, where he led enterprise data and analytics strategy, advanced AI and machine learning initiatives, and strengthened the data governance foundation for one of the nation’s most respected regional health plans. This book was written from that vantage point: a senior executive operating at the center of AI transformation in healthcare, accountable for both strategic vision and measurable outcomes.
He currently also serves as an Executive Advisor to ZS Associates, advising healthcare payer and provider clients on enterprise AI strategy, data modernization, operating model transformation, and the practical deployment of generative and agentic AI. In parallel, he supports multiple healthcare startups and innovators as Advisor, contributing strategic guidance and ecosystem development within the emerging health technology startup landscape.
Over a 20-year career spanning healthcare, financial services, and management consulting, Mr. Arora has held senior leadership roles at Health Care Service Corporation, UnitedHealthcare, Zurich Insurance Group, and Deloitte. Across these organizations, he has built predictive analytics platforms, scaled high-performing data science teams, delivered significant cost savings and revenue growth through AI-enabled decision systems, and advised executive leadership teams on converting data strategy into tangible business value. His work has consistently focused on the intersection of enterprise complexity and applied AI―not as theory, but as execution.
Mr. Arora holds a Master of Science in Information Systems Management from Carnegie Mellon University Heinz College and a Bachelor of Engineering from Delhi Technological University. He is based in the United States.
