A body is discovered floating in the marsh of a small barrier island along the Carolina coast. Matt and Lindy, island residents, are happily retired to a life of stimulating beach walks, volunteer work, leisurely cocktail hours and a quest to prepare the holy grail of southern seafood, the perfect crab cake. Matt's chance discovery of the body in the marsh will not only shatter their tranquil lives, it will threaten his and Lindy's very existence. Set against the backdrop of the illegal immigrant crisis, Beyond Borders takes the reader into a world of dangerous turns where the sinister forces of the Mexican Mafia and the seemingly peaceful lifestyle of coastal living collide.
