Hardcover. 42 volumes, all very good hardbacks in just slightly darkened and rubbed jackets that show some minor wear to the extremities with the following exceptions: Volume one has a tiny closed tear to the top of the front panel. Volume 22 has a small sticker removal scar to the front. Volume 27 has a closed tear and minor surface loss at the bottom of the front fold. Volume nine has a small scribbled mark and a bit more tanning to the jacket. A nice set. A landmark anthology of children's literature, the 42-volume Best in Children's Books series brought together classic stories, poems, folktales, and fairy tales from around the world while celebrating the work of many of the twentieth century's most distinguished illustrators. Featuring original artwork by such renowned artists as Richard Scarry, Feodor Rojankovsky, Garth Williams, Alice and Martin Provensen, Tibor Gergely, and dozens of others, the series stands as both an outstanding collection of children's literature and a remarkable showcase of the Golden Age of children's book illustration.…
