This 6.25 x 9.25 inch, 289 page hardcover book with dust wrapper is the stated first edition of this title in 1957 and handsomely designed and printed by the University of Oklahoma Press. This copy we list as only as in good condition but this really hinges from some insect damage to the bottom edges of the brown cloth covers and the closed text block - - where some unknown insect nibbled on the edges of the pages creating a speckled discoloration to the brown cloth but this is not apparent to the open text pages. Beyond that damage to the bottom - - the book is really in all but fine condition, with the corners sharp, and the interior text pages clean, unmarked, and no other damage showing. The dust wrapper is in very good condition with edge-wear showing and a bit of crinkling and chipping at the spine extremities and with the price clipped on the inside flap. This book reprints a wonderful collection of short pieces by various authors on the American cowboy, life on the range and on the trail, and highlighted by drawings by Nick Eggenhofer. 289 pages.
