A biography in his own words and in a series on the founding fathers. A fascinating two-volume insight into one of America's most loved heroes. Volume 1 contains 150 illustrations - woodcuts, cartoons, sketches and drawings which all complement the text. In 1788 at 82, he was still too busy living his life to write about it and he never completed his famous autobiography. It is the story of a successful printer who became a well-known scientist by the age of fifty. And greater years lay ahead as statesman, diplomat and sage of a new nation. Informally educated, he taught himself to write clear and simple prose and these extracts become a highly entertaining narrative. Copyright © S. Arth.
