Paperback. When the life of a Christian believer is struck by the tragedy of a failed marriage, what is a godly response? What is God's heart toward His children who have experienced divorce? On the topic of divorce, the Christian church has developed a system of biblically unsubstantiated myths that encourage legalistic attitudes toward believers who have experienced divorce. For Christians who have experienced divorce, belief in these myths acts as a barrier, distancing their relationship with God, and isolating them from fellow believers. In this insightful book, Joseph Pote takes a myth-buster approach in frankly addressing these misconceptions, beginning with the myth that "divorce is sin." Readers of this book will experience the liberating joy of lifted guilt and renewed intimacy with the Father as each myth is exposed in the light of God's truth revealed in this biblical perspective of covenant and redemption.
