Print on Demand. This book examines the proposed 1911 plan for the organic union of American Methodism. The author provides a detailed analysis of the plan, its implications, and the historical context in which it was developed. The author argues that the plan, which would have merged the Methodist Episcopal Church, the Methodist Protestant Church, and the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, into one denomination, was a significant step toward Christian unity. The author also discusses the challenges to organic union, including the different views on the role of bishops and the issue of race. Ultimately, the plan was not adopted, but the author argues that it remains a valuable resource for promoting unity among Methodist denominations. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

This little treatise, if, indeed, it is more than a tract, gives itself definitely to an inspection of the Plan sent to us by the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, its content and implications then it suggests certain modifications necessary to make the Plan practicable and unanimous.
Were it proper to do so, I should count it a high pleasure to dedicate this little book individually to the members of. The Joint Commission on Federation which drafted the Plan, so many of whom are personal friends, and for all of whom I have high esteem.
